Annual reports have become another location to highlight interesting photography. The two shown here are very small parts of quite large projects to promote the work of the company or charity to their boards and shareholders
A quote from the charity’s website:
Social mobility in Britain has stagnated. The opportunities open to a child from a disadvantaged background today are strongly linked to how much their parents earn. Since 1997 and under the leadership of our founder, Sir Peter Lampl, the Sutton Trust has worked to address this. We fight for social mobility from birth to the workplace so that every young person – no matter who their parents are, what school they go to, or where they live – has the chance to succeed in life.
A large documentary commission to photograph real shoppers at Safeway stores up and down the country for their annual report. I found the project engaging. I was very much enjoyed the surprise and interest the photography created at what are now shops that have been taken over by Morrisons.
